Motherwort Dried Leaf

Motherwort leaves (Leonurus cardiaca) are harvested fresh, before and during the blooming phase of the plants life cycle.

Its herbal energetics are bitter and cool. It has an affinity to the nervous system, cardiovascular system as well as the reproductive and digestive systems. It acts as a nervine, cardiotonic, emmenagogue, antispasmodic and as a mild sedative.

Motherwort aids in improving circulation and is useful for controlling mood swings and cramps associated with the menstrual cycle and hormonal changes related to menopause.

These leaves were grown and harvested fresh on our off-grid Herb Farm.

Not recommended for use during pregnancy. High doses may possibly interact with pharmaceutical heart medications. Lowers blood pressure.
