The medicine of Mugwort

The medicine of Mugwort

As we begin to emerge from the darker time of year, integrating our experiences requires a plant ally guide like Mugwort to offer strength and support in all her various medicinal and energetic expressions.

Mugwort was named for the Greek Goddess of the moon “Artemis”, in respect of this herb’s benefits to women’s health - especially in menstruation, childbirth and the menopause. Whether needing help and healing with digestive or reproductive challenges, Artemisia vulgaris seems to possess the power to warm, move and clear stuck energy, tension and emotions from the body.

Mugwort also has a deep connection to the Dreamtime and have been used historically to enhance visioning and lucid dreaming. In folklore Mugwort was believed to initiate the clarity of the dream experience and to help us remember dreams easier. As a renowned Visionary herb, the Artemisias were the plants that opens one to dreams of the future.

At our off-grid Herb Farm we’re honoured to grow and tend to a large patch of Mugwort in which we create our herbal offerings from: Our magical Mugwort fresh plant Tincture & ‘Moon Mend’ Tincture Blend, Deep Dream’ Herbal Tea Blend and our ‘Moon Mend’ Salve.

More details about all of these offerings can be found at our Herb Shop Head on over and explore what is possible when we lean into the wisdom and wonder that is available when working with these powerful plants.
