What a lovely day it was to finally be planting out some of these Calendula plant starts into the Herb Farm garden beds yesterday.

Growing & gathering medicinal plants from seed and nurturing them to this point takes quite a level of dedication, and I for one am always happy when it's time to get the plants in the Earth where they belong, in the sun, under the rain, and among the wild elements of nature. With most of the Herb Farm being perennials, these are the only guys, as well as Tulsi, Borage, and a few others, that need to be planted again year after year.
All the perennial plants are happy, healthy and growing full and tall already and the annuals have all been tucked into some fresh spots within new soil in which to burst forth for a brand new season. Comfrey is among the first, along with Valerian and Arnica, just beginning to push out new pre-flower buds. The spiralling Hops are climbing high and so many others healing herbs are also starting to reach for the sky.

As the sun fades down these majestic mountains once again, a view I'm blessed to have witnessed thousands of times over many years, I'm reminded to just stay present and grateful for each and every moment, as we can't really ever know what's to come next. Just as nature is always shifting and changing and the light is always in a state of flux, it's just such a god damn gift to be here right now.

As Ayla Nereo says, "Listen to your heart, grow a little garden, feed the ones around you with your love." Don't mind if I do...
