Tis the season of every bowl, basket, pot and pan being filled with all sorts of fresh blooms and leaves! July on the Herb Farm has been busy with so many flowers, handfuls of food, long harvest days, mega medicine making and drying racks full to the brim.
Nature and plants have so much to teach us about reverence and reciprocity. I continue to be constantly be humbled and amazed by the grand array of colour and connection these herbs have to offer.
One of the many joys of growing & gathering my own medicinal herbs is bearing witness to the incredible abundance and beauty that bursts forth from the land every year this season from the many herbal allies we work with.
Yet creating abundance is not the difficult part when working closely with the Earth as we do out here, as Mother Nature is abundance. I suppose the deeper challenge for humans is in realizing all the abundance that is right here and now, below your feet, in the forests, that force behind the rivers, and the sun beating down on us each day, offering us always all that is has.
Truly the joys of tending herbs, year after year, never ceases to bring a smile to my face and deep meaning to my heart. This world is pure abundance, there is more than enough to go around, we just need to remember to take the time to notice all that we are offered each day, even more.
"Look around you, you have more than enough. Always have. you just didn't notice until now."
